Viral Social Meme - 'It's coming home' 

 

During the summer of 2018, England was gripped with World Cup Fever. Whether it was 'coming home' had once again become the talk of a nation. Ahead of England's quarter-finals game against Sweden, I created a lighthearted image of Gareth Southgate leaving IKEA with a trophy cabinet to share with friends.​ The post quickly gained traction across social media platforms, boosted by sports and tv personalities and by England's eventual win. It was picked up by prominent social channels, national press and international football forums.​ Although this wasn't an official collaboration with IKEA, they did respond in good humour on Twitter at the time.
